About the Artist

Spill the T Ceramics is Tara’s home pottery studio in Yarm, North Yorkshire—a small, lively world of warm clay, vivid colour and curious creatures.

After studying ceramics at Staffordshire University, Tara took a 25-year detour into education before finding her way back to her first creative love: clay. That winding journey gives the studio its distinctive character—part hard-won experience, part restless curiosity, and part lifelong fascination with the wild, wonderful world beyond the doorstep.

Many of Tara’s pieces feature her signature carved sgraffito marks, bringing texture and movement to bright, hand-painted designs. Flowing lines and unexpected details catch the eye and invite a closer look. Her style draws on a misspent youth roaming muddy farms, a deep love of wildlife and, quite possibly, more David Attenborough documentaries than is strictly necessary.

The result is pottery with colour, character and a playful streak of irreverence. No two pieces are ever exactly alike. Each one carries the fingerprints, quirks and small surprises of its making—a little story in clay, alive with texture and ready to bring some wildness, warmth and joy into your home.
